197 - A Conversation that Matters on Social Equity: Taking it to the Highest Level

Tuesday, September 26
1:00 PM–2:15 PM

Location: Directors Corner- Rivergate Room

Days: Tuesday, 26 September
Track: Advocacy
NRPA Three Pillars: Social Equity
Session Type: Directors' Corner

This Town Hall Format, moderated by Dr. Ana M. Alvarez, will include panelists who are tackling sensitive leadership conversations to influence good social policy during tumultous times. The panel will engage session attendees in a critical conversation on what the future requires of us to reduce sources of conflict and connect communities; and to lead with courage beyond our doubts and differences.  Panelists will share their personal stories and professional expertise in creating more inclusive, just and democratic communities, where the voices of a few do not drown out the voice of righteousness.  Public parks and recreation leaders must be brave and their choices must be bold when managing public spaces that serve democracy as forums for civic engagement and freedom of expression.

Join us in a conversation that matters on social equity with:
