Travel the Barataria Basin (about 60 miles South of New Orleans) to learn about the rich, but fragile eco-system that sustains the region as the seafood capital of America aboard a 68-foot oyster boat. Voyaging out into the bay, you will learn how oysters grow, how oyster farming operates, how and when oysters are harvested, all while having a hands-on experience of dredging up live oysters and participating in the sorting process.  Bring your white rubber boots! Attire: Comfortable attire, sun block, hat, watershoes and rain shoes.
