Most recreation departments offer fitness programming and employ a wide variety of part time and independent fitness program providers. There are a wide variety of exercise-professional roles and credentials. This session will provide attendees with a working knowledge of the differences between them and enable them to identify well-qualified individuals for their programs. The session will also discuss current trends in fitness programming and discuss incorporating them into recreation facilities.

Learning Outcomes:
Upon completion of the session attendees will be able to distinguish between the different roles of exercise professionals and determine how to utilize them to enhance health and fitness programming.
Upon completion of the session attendees will be able to identify the different types of exercise professional credentials and understand how credentials can affect programming.
Upon completion of the session attendees will be able to articulate current fitness programming trends and have specific ideas for how to implement them as a part of their overall fitness program.
