On Friday, August 11, 2016, the greater Baton Rouge area was hit by a 1,000-year flood as 7.1-trillion gallons of rain fell on the area in just four days. BREC immediately sprang into action serving the community, and the BREC communications team aggressively told the story through social media, daily updates and internal messages to impacted employees for weeks afterward. You will learn how our quick reaction, and their thirst for pictures put us in the news cycle from day one.

Learn how to create a flexible disaster plan for their communications office and have the starting outline of it written down by the end of the session.
Learn how to use social media to get noticed by the media in the very beginning of a crisis with proven tips of what to do before a disaster, during and after the crisis ends and recovery begins.
Measure their success using a variety of analytics and communicate it to their supervisors, stakeholders and community so that their actions aren't forgotten.
