Park Advisory Councils (PAC) can make significant contributions to parks. The Chicago Park District (CPD) has over 200 advisory councils across the city. Learn the CPD model and hear PAC success stories. This session will help parks create and sustain a strong partnership with community advisory groups. The presentation will address starting an advisory group, developing a strong partnership, how park staff can work with and support PACs, record keeping, setting goals together and common challenges.

Learning Outcomes:
Upon completion of this session, participants will have a better understanding of the foundations of creating and sustaining a strong partnership between the park and the Advisory Group
Participants will be able to utilize a guide to follow in managing Park Advisory Groups.
Upon completion of this session, the audience will demonstrate how to educate Advisory Groups on becoming meaningful contributors to their park
