The City of Wichita Department of Park & Recreation has worked with local non-profits to address congregation and camping of homeless groups in parks and open spaces. The City of Wichita Police Department has homeless outreach teams that work in partnership with homeless service providers and businesses to refer homeless to their resources or program. While we have seen success with some of our efforts, this continues to be a growing concern in our community.

Learning Outcomes:
Upon completion of the session, the participants will be able to identify the various factors that contribute to homelessness.
Upon completion of the session, the participants will be able to assess the success of various types of outreach to the homeless population.
Upon completion of the session, the participants will be able to assess the collaborative efforts that have been successful in reducing the number of homeless in parks.
